My Mother

It is such a phenomenon to me that the way I looked at women that were my age now when I was a teenager was appalling. How could I have been so out of touch? My lack of interest in what older women thought or felt continued way into my twenties.

When I think of my mother now I have to take a deep breath. To know that she was my age when I looked at her as an old woman that could not possibly understand me! I know it is awful and I know now that it simply is not true.

Women all share the same condition, from infancy on we are part of a unique sisterhood. Being a woman of maturity does not mean that I do not have the same desires and want the same things for myself I wanted when I was in my twenties, of course those dreams and desires are peppered with caution and a bit of skepticism but they are still very much present.

The desire to be attractive is still omnipresent each day. To feel well and loved never goes away. Aging has nothing to do with how you feel on the inside. I hope my daughters don't view me as an old woman that is lacking a desire to live life to the fullest and be healthy while I am doing it! I go here: Be Your Healthiest You! Sibu Whole Food Nutrition Special Discounts Available to help me to keep it together!

Seabuckthorn- What is it?

Seabuckthorn is a plant that grows naturally around the world in mountainous regions. I am all about alternative medicine especially Chinese medicine so Seabuckthorn is something I use regularly. It comes in different forms from juice to pills and is purported to aid in digestion,  invigorate circulation and help with the aches and pains associated with everyday living.

Besides all of the above you should also note that Seabuckthorn also has anti oxidant properties as well. Anti-oxidants = anti- aging. I am all about the anti aging. I do not like to slather chemicals on my face, I  do not want to be injected with Botulism there just seems something so wrong about that but I do want to look like the hot mama I am inside. Seabuckthorn is a great supplement to help me reach my goals!
I am all about the natural healthy way to stay young. I use Seabuckthorn! The Next Big Thing in Whole Food Nutrition...SEABUCKTHORN!!! Sibu Balance now from $17.37

Healthier Me as a Middle Age Woman

Mid life for women is a drag! I have it all figured out. No one talks about how crappy you feel when everything begins to droop and drag because no one wants to admit it! Look at the celebrities that we are competing with. I love those magazine ads that tell you what you should look at in your forties, fifties and sixties.

Who the hell I want to know looks like that when they have raised a family and put themselves second their entire lives? My 29 year old daughter informed me that 50 is the new 30. I got news for her the only time 50 feels like 30 is when you have staff! I don't have staff I have kids AND grand kids that remind me how old I am every single day!

Let me also tell you that I hate the term middle aged, at one point are you not middle aged, when do you exactly become middle age. I mean if you plan on living until you are 80 than 40 would be middle aged. What if you think your end will be at 70? Is middle aged 35? It is a label I can not stand!

I was a change of life baby when change of life babies were unheard of. My mother had me when she was 41 in the early 1960's! Today there are more and more women waiting until the are 40 to have a baby! I give special props to any woman that has a baby at or after 40, cause I know I was staying tired for a while there.

I am not menopausal, I am peri-menopausal. Most women do not even know that there are stages to menopause. Menopause from pre to post can take 10 years! My period visits once every other month sometimes every three months this has been happening for the last 3 years! It is ridiculous! You have to be menses free for one entire year to be considered menopausal.

About a year ago I started getting tired of being on the down slide. The weight was creeping up on me around my mid section and I was exhausted all the time. My doctors answer was to load me up with Welbutrin to help with the flashes and my perky attitude. Let me not get started on the drugging of American women.

So I have been on this journey toward a healthier me. This blog is going to chronicle my efforts! You should come along for the ride, misery loves company!
